【記者爆料網 蔡智銘／綜合報導】英國白金漢宮5日證實，英國國王查爾斯三世（Charles III）罹患癌症，並已開始接受治療，目前定居在美國哈利將於近日從美國飛回英國探望父親，但其妻子梅根並不會同行，據了解，查爾斯三世是在最近治療前列腺肥大的問題時發現罹癌，已開始接受定期癌症治療，對身體狀況表示樂觀，對復原後繼續履行公務有信心。查爾斯三世已延後所有公開活動、改由其他高級王室成員暫代，但會照常處理國事和官方文書，並維持每週與首相蘇納克（Rishi Sunak）的會晤。
在得知罹癌消息後，查爾斯三世親自將診斷結果通知了直系親屬，包括2個兒子、妹妹安妮公主（Anne, Princess Royal）、弟弟安德魯王子（Prince Andrew, Duke of York）和愛德華王子（Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh）。

During The King’s recent hospital procedure for benign prostate enlargement, a separate issue of concern was noted. Subsequent diagnostic tests have identified a form of cancer.
His Majesty has today commenced a schedule of regular treatments, during which time he has been advised by doctors to postpone public-facing duties. Throughout this period, His Majesty will continue to undertake State business and official paperwork as usual.
The King is grateful to his medical team for their swift intervention, which was made possible thanks to his recent hospital procedure. He remains wholly positive about his treatment and looks forward to returning to full public duty as soon as possible.
His Majesty has chosen to share his diagnosis to prevent speculation and in the hope it may assist public understanding for all those around the world who are affected by cancer.
